My Role & Responsibilities

As the in-house Digital Marketing Lead at Locus Fermentation Solutions and its subdivisions, I developed and executed SEO strategies tailored to this division’s complex, science-based offering. I worked cross-functionally with R&D and leadership teams at Locus Bio Energy Solutions to translate technical concepts into search-optimized, digestible content for a B2B audience. Key responsibilities included:

  • Conducting technical SEO audits and identifying high-impact optimization areas
  • Developing detailed content calendars for web content and social media posts

  • Performing keyword research for scientific and commercial search terms
  • Writing and optimizing blog posts that connected educational queries to the brand’s solutions
  • Ensuring consistent messaging across multiple channels
  • Developing email campaigns and aligned PPC activities

  • Building SEO reporting dashboards to monitor and communicate progress

The Results

  • Grew monthly organic traffic by +348% in just 6 months

  • Increased total ranking keywords from 150 to 231

  • Supported development of educational blog content such as Biosurfactants vs. Bio-Based Surfactants
  • Established a technical SEO foundation

What I Learned

This project reinforced the importance of collaborating with subject-matter experts when working with highly technical or scientific products. By combining keyword strategy with input from the R&D team, I created content that not only performed in search but also aligned with the company’s credibility and voice. Even with a short timeline, thoughtful SEO can drive measurable growth when grounded in expertise and relevance.
